We have deep knowledge and understanding of the private international law, which governs the inheritance process in Greece and abroad.

The Greek Inheritance Law is regulated by the Greek Civil Code. It is quite similar to French and German Inheritance law, but is quite different from English and American inheritance law. We are well aware of all these similarities and differences and can assist you accordingly.

What is dual citizenship

The concept of dual citizenship or dual nationality means that a person is a citizen of two countries at the same time. Each country has its own nationality laws.

Persons may hold dual citizenship:

  • Automatically, known as “by operation of law”, e.g. by birth or descent.
  • After successfully applying for second citizenship in another country, provided their original country allows dual citizenship.
